How often should you change your oil?

Follow your owner's manual or the car's oil-life monitor. For city driving in Toronto, use the severe-service schedule if your manual has one. A full-synthetic oil change at our shop is $60 & up.

Why Toronto driving often counts as severe service

  • Short trips where the engine never fully warms up
  • Stop-and-go traffic
  • Cold winters
  • Lots of idling, or rideshare and delivery driving

Time matters too

Oil ages even when the car sits. If you don't drive much, change it at least as often as the time limit in your manual, even if you haven't reached the kilometres.

Signs it's due

  • The oil-life monitor or maintenance light is on
  • The oil on the dipstick is low or very dark and gritty
  • The engine sounds louder or ticks on start-up
  • It's been longer than your manual's time limit

What's included at our shop

  • Full-synthetic oil (up to 5L in the starting price) and a new filter
  • A quick look at the tires, brakes, fluids and anything leaking while it's on the hoist
  • Walk-ins welcome when we can fit you in, or leave your keys in the 24-hour drop box
